Dollhouse tour: The Avalor Pet Shop

Hello everyone! This is Esmeralda. Today we will be doing a tour of my pet shop. In case you are wondering I am a beast trainer...

(Bricks printed out from Wikipedia here.)

This is the outside. At one point we tried to paint the bricks pink (mind you that did not turn out well), but now the paint is chipping off a little.

This is the inside of the shop, we have places for animals to stay and sleep. (There are even some hatched eggs.)

And over here is where I keep the grooming supplies. It can be very hard sometimes to brush fur and feathers at the same time.

Well...this is the tour of the Avalor Pet Shop. I hope you enjoyed it! Also, if you want to adopt a pet, feel free to stop by here.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you like the doll house tour? Would you like to see more of these? Also, what is your favorite place in Esmeralda's pet shop?

Love,
Quinley

Happy Saint Patrick's Day (Post by Willa.)

Hello everyone this is Willa, happy Saint Patrick's Day.
Now...Saint Patrick's day isn't just about wearing green, and going to parades and stuff like that. It is about the Irish culture.

Here are some things I like to do on Saint Patrick's Day:

- Dress up in green.
- Tell stories with my family about Ireland.
- Listen to Irish Music. (Like Celtic Woman, etc.)
- Try to teach my sisters (not including Maryellen, she has one) how to do an Irish accent.
- Do Irish dancing with my sisters.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope you enjoyed reading my post.
What is your favorite thing to do during Saint Patrick's Day?

Your Friend,
Willa

What's Happening In This Picture? #2 (Favorite Captions and Voting.)

Hello everyone,

Here are my favorite captions from this round:

From anonymous:

It's Fall! Another season, another toga...I am so tired of wearing togas. Thousands of years, thousands of togas. Is it true, as Artemis says, that no one will know who I am, if I appear to them in a ball gown? She doesn't wear a toga, she wears her hunting outfit, as dreary as that is, and people still know who she is. I want color! Pink! Purple! I want lace, I want fluff. Which goes better with my beautiful red hair? To be continued....

From Theincompetenthuman:

Girls don't take that much time with full-length gowns nowadays. It's a shame they SKIRT around the issue. I'm not trying to sugarCOAT this, but this really is quite a HEEL.

From anonymous (2):

Here are my two invisible sisters! Of course, they aren't dressed as well as I am, but aren't they fashionable? I am so glad that my hair is not invisible. Just imagine if you had to spend hours in the morning getting it fixed and no one ever saw it!

Which Caption is your favorite?

There won't really be a time when the poll ends, but it will eventually end.

Doll Photography #6

Hi everyone,
Today I decided I should do a doll photography post.

Here are the pictures:

This picture of Felicity's eye never made it into the photoshoot.
But I like the way her eye looks.

I really like the way the glass looks in this picture of Hera.

This picture of Z is being used as my header!:)

Even though the lighting in this picture isn't the best (since I think it was taken at night),
I like how the shadows work in the photo.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Which picture is your favorite?

Love,
Quinley

P. S. I am planning to continue the "What's Happening in This Picture,"
however, I need more captions. You can leave a caption here.

Happy Valentine's Day (+ Photo shoot)

Hi everyone!:) Happy Valentine's day, today I thought I would do a photoshoot with these dolls (or characters) that seemed the most "Valentinesy" (and romantic). In order of Appearance:

Aphrodite from Greek Mythology

Katrina Van Tassel from Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (even though her story is technically a Halloween story, I thought she would like to be in the photo shoot).

Freya from Norse Mythology

Here is the photo shoot (Unlike the other photo shoots I have done, I will be including facts about the characters instead of talking about the photos.):

Aphrodite

Aphrodite is the goddess of love and beauty. She was born out the sea and one of the most famous paintings of her is The Birth of Venus (Venus is her Roman name). Her son Eros (aka Cupid) is a big part of Valentine's Day. He in fact shows up on a lot of cards, and decorations.
Aphrodite also has a girdle that will make the wearer more beautiful.

                                       Katrina Van Tassel

Katrina is a character from Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
She is part of the romantic subplot of the novella, and even though she doesn't get much       attention in the book, several movie versions have developed her character.
Katrina is often portrayed as a beautiful, slightly mischievous person
(who is also the catalyst of the whole conflict between Ichabod and Brom.)

                                  Freya

Freya is the Norse goddess of love, beauty, and war. She has a charriot pulled by cats, and wears a necklace that she never takes off. The necklace is so beautiful that even the god Loki tried to steal it.

My dolls wish you a Happy Valentine's Day!

Which photo is your favorite? And which character is your favorite?

I hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day,
-Quinley

Craft Protect: How to Make Colonial Hairstyle for Boy Dolls

Hi Everyone!:)
Today I am going to show you how to do a Colonial hairstyle for boy dolls with plastic hair using yarn. I was inspired by MyFroggyStuff's Mal doll. Since you probably already know I love the Colonial era...So I thought why not do the Colonial hairstyle on dolls?

What you need:
Yarn (It has to be thick enough that it can be unraveled.)
A hot glue gun
A hairbrush (to brush it out)
A doll (with plastic hair)

First you start by brushing out the yarn  (until it looks somewhat like hair)
and then you glue it to your doll's head.

Continue until the first part of your doll's head is covered with yarn.
Then since you will have left over yarn in your hairbrush, use the left over yarn to cover
the top of your doll's head.
Some parks may be harder to cover than others.

Here is what your boy doll may look like when you are finished.

This also works on girl dolls that have sculpted plastic hair (like Liv dolls, etc.). By doing this you can change the doll's hair color, as well as giving them textured hair.

                                                                       Before:

                                                             After:

This doll's hair ended up looking more like a powdered wig than real hair.

Before:

After:
Where as this one ended looking more like it was real hair.

                         ------------------------------------------------------

What do you think? Are you planning to try it?

Love,
Quinley
