Red Coats on the Horizon (part 1): It Started With a Song

I changed my mind about which photo story I would post. Instead of posting the other AG doll story, that I lost somewhere, I decided that this one would be better (since this one has more of a plot to it, and I had more fun taking these photos). The only thing that I wish I had done for this photo story is to dress my dolls in clothes for fall (since they were wearing summer clothes).

Felicity held tightly onto her horse’s mane. She could feel the sweat on her hands.

She couldn’t let go, she couldn’t or the Red Coats would catch up to her…she couldn’t…

Do you wonder how Felicity ended up being chased by Red Coats? Well, it didn’t start out like that, in fact it started with a song, yes a song.
And no not a song like Yankee Doodle, or any of those songs that you may think I mean…but a song by someone no other than Tenney.

You see she had been suffering from songwriter’s block, and couldn’t come up with a new song…

“Bravo!” shouted Z,
Felicity smiled, “It’s beautiful.”

“Thank you.” sighed Tenney, “but that’s one of my old songs, and I am trying to come up with a new one…but I have no ideas what so ever…that’s why I asked you, Felicity and Z for advice…perhaps you two have ideas.”

Z thought for a moment and then said,
“You could write a song about American Girl dolls…You have never written a song about them.”

Tenney nodded, “maybe…” she then turned to look at Felicity,
“Do you have any ideas?”

Felicity sighed and stood there for a few minutes and then said slowly,

“Let me think about it…once I have an idea, I will be sure to tell you.”

“Thank you…” sighed Tenney, you could tell that she was rather disappointed that the songwriter part of her mind was not working.
“Anyway,” she said, “I better go…I have a show to practice for.”
“Bye!” said Z and Felicity at the same time.

Felicity then turned to Z, “I better go, too!” Before Z could even say “goodbye” to her, Felicity had gone around the corner of the tree, and vanished.

She sighed and muttered a very small, “goodbye” and then looked around.

A smile appeared on her face, “This would be the perfect place to do a stop motion.”

Felicity sighed, and looked down at her necklace, the time travel had worked.

And oh good, Elizabeth was still there…

“Lissie!” she said, turning around, “Good that you're still here, I wondered what happened to you…”
“Oh nothing.” responded Felicity. “Just thought I should enjoy the fresh air you know, anyway…you seem a little bit jumpy are you alright?”

“I’m f-fine.” responded Elizabeth, and then turned to look around, and then stared back at Felicity,

“Alright, I’m not fine…I will tell you what happened, but we can’t talk about it here.”
Felicity nodded, and they began walking through the forest. As they were walking, Felicity realized she had forgotten to hide her necklace. Thankfully Elizabeth had been too nervous to notice it.

While they were walking Felicity quickly stuffed the necklace in her dress. She sighed and then turned to Elizabeth. They had made it half way through the forest and were nearly to the town of Williamsburg, perhaps she would be ready to talk about whatever it was now.

“Elizabeth, do you think this a good place to talk about it?” asked Felicity, and promptly leaned onto the branch that was in the center of their path.

Elizabeth shook her head, “No, Felicity, it’s not.” she half whispered, and then began walking again.

They had nearly made it out of the forest and Felicity was fighting back the desire to ask again. It felt like a pain inside of her. What had scared her best friend? What was going on with her? Felicity sighed, well she could at least ask one thing,

“Where do you exactly want to talk?” asked Felicity.

Elizabeth seemed to be deep in thought, finally after a little bit she said,
“How about somewhere like your father’s store…but it must be somewhere were no one can hear what we are saying.”
Felicity nodded, at least she knew where Elizabeth wanted to talk, but what did she want to tell her? The pain of not knowing still firmly enveloped Felicity, she couldn’t let something like that hurt her best friend.

To be continued....

What do you think Elizabeth is going to tell Felicity?
And do you think Tenney will get out of songwriter's block?

Doll Photography #6

Hi everyone,
Today I decided I should do a doll photography post.

Here are the pictures:

This picture of Felicity's eye never made it into the photoshoot.
But I like the way her eye looks.

I really like the way the glass looks in this picture of Hera.

This picture of Z is being used as my header!:)

Even though the lighting in this picture isn't the best (since I think it was taken at night),
I like how the shadows work in the photo.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Which picture is your favorite?

Love,
Quinley

P. S. I am planning to continue the "What's Happening in This Picture,"
however, I need more captions. You can leave a caption here.

Tricorn Hats & Buckled Shoes (A Photo Shoot)

Hi everyone!
Today I thought was a perfect day to post a photo shoot,
anyway here it is:

I really like this photo of Felicity's necklace (that allows her to time travel).

I really like the angle of this photo.

I really like how this picture turned out.

I like this picture of Felicity's tricorn hat, because of the angle.

I thought this picture turned out well.

Felicity suddenly decided to fall asleep during the photo shoot,
so, of course, I took a picture of her lying in the grass in the sun.

                        Which photo is your favorite?
And what is your favorite clothing from the Colonial era?
-Quinley

P.S. This is a update on the doll colonial hairstyle project. I have the materials that I needed, and I think I will be able to work on it, and I plan to make it the next thing I post.

Elizabeth and Ben "Meet Outfit" drawings

Hi everyone,
after I made this post I figured that I should draw some pictures of
what the dolls' "Meet outfits" could look like (here they are):

To draw Elizabeth's outfit, I had to look at some colonial dresses.
I had to look at some of the covers of the Felicity books, and
I intended to make it look a little like Elizabeth's old dress, but not too much like it.

I enjoyed drawing Ben's outfit. I had to look at a picture of him to draw it...
though I had to find a close up of his hat. I don't know if it turned out as well as the rest of the outfit.
Also I think that if American Girl makes Ben into a doll, they should use either Maryellen's face mold or Julie's, with a slight change of nose and mouth.

I hope you enjoyed reading the post...

Do you like my drawings of the possible "Meet outfits"?
Love,
-Quinley

P.S. I am going to be working on the next part of Tracey Comes to Visit, soon,
don't be surprised if it takes me a little while to write it.

why I think they should bring back Elizabeth and add Ben to Felicity's Collection

Hi everyone!:)
The reason why this title is so long is because I had a lot to talk about (and I couldn't think of way to shorten it.) So...let's begin, American Girl recently brought back Felicity and added a boy doll (Logan).  I thought since they recently added Felicity back, they should bring Elizabeth back into the collection, as well as adding Ben (a character from Felicity's book).  Also since I like Felicity and her story I feel like there should be more than one doll in her collection.

Here are the reasons why....

Why I think they should add Ben

Ben was an interesting character in the books and in the movie. Even though he is slightly older than Felicity, I think it would be good to know what men wore at the time (in doll form).  American Girl stopped including illustrations inside their books and the part of the historical books, called looking back at the past, no longer shows pictures of what people wore in that time period.

(Picture from Rotten Tomatoes, https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/felicity_an_american_girl_adventure)
I think that Ben's clothes would be interesting to have, because girls could dress up their Felicity doll in boy's clothes, as well as having colonial clothes for their boy doll. It is also part of the story that Felicity dresses up as a boy and they don't have any clothes for her like that. The outfit that is pictured above I think would be a awesome "Meet outfit" for Ben (I also think his hairstyle would look awesome on a doll).

There is also another reason why I think it would be good to add Ben to Felicity's collection. Felicity has come back and all her stories from her point of view as a patriot are put into 2 or 3 books (and I don't think they have added Elizabeth's side as a loyalist into it). I think they should add a boy's point of view of the era into a book, like Felicity's first book except it would be told in Ben's point of view, even though he is a patriot, too, we would be hearing about the American revolution through a boy's perspective and we would be able to see what men and boy's did at that time.

Why it would be important to bring back Elizabeth
(Picture from American Girl Wiki, http://americangirl.wikia.com/wiki/Elizabeth_Cole)

I don't believe they added in Elizabeth's side of the story in Felicity's new book (but I don't know for sure, because I have only read Felicity's original books and not her Beforever ones).  It would be good to be hearing her side of the story since she is a loyalist and we would get a different prespective (like in Ben's we would get to know what men and boy's were allowed to do in the era)
and would be able to hear what was going on in the American revolution but from a loyalist's perspective. If you only hear it from the patriot's perspective then you get a one-sided idea of the American revolution.

Unfortunately, we lost her side of the story when American Girl retired the best friend dolls.

In conclusion, Felicity is the only doll in her collection, and we are missing the loyalist's and a boy's  point of view of the American Revolutionary war and story.
------------------------------------------
Hope you enjoyed reading the post, I am planning to send American Girl a letter about this.

What do you think? Do you like my idea of a Ben doll?
Do you think should American Girl bring back Elizabeth?

Love,
-Quinley
