Exciting News!

Hi everyone,

I recently heard that a doll company called Carpatina is making a colonial boy doll! It's truly a dream come true, since they are making him look historically accurate. He has the right hair, hat and everything:

So, I didn't make a blog post about American Girl turning down my idea to make a Ben Davidson doll  (they couldn't do it since they said they aren't allowed to use costumer's ideas).

(image from Wiki, http://americangirl.wikia.com/wiki/Benjamin_Davidson)

I was too upset at the time to even think of making a blog post. (I am not saying that I don't like AG, I was just was disappointed in them.) However, just after they got back to me, I found out that Carpatina had announced they were making a colonial boy doll, and I found it even more interesting when I discovered he had all the things I had wanted Ben to have. (Minus looking like how they portrayed him in Felicity's movie.)

I found this too exciting not to blog about. :)

What do you think of the new boy doll? What is your favorite historical time period(s)?

Deborah Sampson (A Photo Shoot)

Hi everyone,
I try not to do two photo shoots one after another, but I really wanted to do this one so...
in this photo shoot Sarah is dressed as Deborah Sampson, a woman who disguised herself as man, so that she could fight in the Revolutionary war:

I like the camera setting I did for this photo, it makes it look
somewhat like an old photo.

Now this in the normal setting, I like the way it looks.

I like this angle.

The Celtic Princess (A photoshoot)

Hi everyone,
today I thought would be a perfect day to post a photo shoot:

I like the way her hair looks in this photo.

I like the way her dress looks in this.

This one has an interesting angle.

This one will be her profile photo.

Custom Doll Project (part one): Giving Her New hair.

Hello everyone,
Today I am going to show you a custom doll project I have been working on.
Here it is:

I found a doll that had very tangled hair and was not in the best condition to customize, and fix.
She is a Disney Princess Royal Shimmer Rapunzel Doll.  Her hair was very, very tangled...er matted. so I decided to fix it by giving her new hair.

To fix her hair I considered doing a full reroot which would mean taking off  her head. Though having had one bad experience trying to do that, I decided to cut off her hair instead and replace it with yarn (similar to my doll colonial hairstyle post).

So, I began cutting off her hair:
Considering how tangled and matted her hair was, it was a little hard to cut it off.

At this point in the picture her hair reminds
me a little of Princess Diana's or Kes's hair (from Star Trek: Voyager).
Once all of her hair had been cut off except for a few pieces of hair, which would be useful for helping the yarn stay on.

I got out my yarn of choice which was bright red and then started hot gluing it to my doll's head. I didn't have the brush I usually
use to brush out the yarn to make it look more like real hair. Instead, I unraveled the yarn and gave her a long and curly hairstyle.

Do you like the way she turned out? Have you ever customized a doll before?

P.S. In Part Two I plan to repaint her face.

Happy Father's Day (Post By Legolas)

Erm...how to start this post...
Hello internet people, I am Legolas Greenleaf Prince of Mirkwood, and, well, you know the rest...
I was asked to make a post for Father's Day (a human holiday)  so...um, I will go ahead and make it... I still don't know why Hermione or Tauriel or Willow weren't asked to make this post oppose to ME

Things I like to do during Father's Day:

Umm... can I get back to you on that? no...alright then...

  • Umm....I like going horse (and elk) back riding with my father. (when he is in a good mood of course...and not banishing people left and right.)
  • Doing archery and swordplay with my father when he is in the mood though I tend to do it more with Tauriel...
  • Let's see...um, I can't really think of anything else to add to the list....

What you like most about Father's Day?

I just found out about the holiday...
I think it's interesting really, and I would celebrate it again. (Considering it put my father, Thranduil in a far better mood than he normally is...)
Well anyway this is my Father's Day (and first) post...

What do you think of the human holiday Father's Day?

Doll Photography #7

Hi everyone.

So, today I thought would be a good day to do a Doll Photography post (which is mostly made up of photos that didn't get into a photo shoot or photos that are hard to fit into photo shoots.)

I really like this picture of Elizabeth's earring, I don't know why.

I like how this picture of Elena turned out.

I rather wish I had included this photo in this post .
I really like how Clocksworth looks in this picture,
it actually reminds me of a scene from the movie,
Beauty and The Beast

Even though this didn't get included in the photoshoot ,
I like the way it is composed.

Happy Mother's Day (+ Photo shoot.)

Hi everyone,
Happy Mother's Day!

To celebrate Mother's Day
I will sharing pictures of Wonder Woman's mother Hippolyta:

I like how this turned out.

This one I think turned out well...

Even though my hand got into this one (by accident),
I really like the angle of the photo.
