Craft Protect: How to Make Colonial Hairstyle for Boy Dolls

Hi Everyone!:)
Today I am going to show you how to do a Colonial hairstyle for boy dolls with plastic hair using yarn. I was inspired by MyFroggyStuff's Mal doll. Since you probably already know I love the Colonial era...So I thought why not do the Colonial hairstyle on dolls?

What you need:
Yarn (It has to be thick enough that it can be unraveled.)
A hot glue gun
A hairbrush (to brush it out)
A doll (with plastic hair)

First you start by brushing out the yarn  (until it looks somewhat like hair)
and then you glue it to your doll's head.

Continue until the first part of your doll's head is covered with yarn.
Then since you will have left over yarn in your hairbrush, use the left over yarn to cover
the top of your doll's head.
Some parks may be harder to cover than others.

Here is what your boy doll may look like when you are finished.

This also works on girl dolls that have sculpted plastic hair (like Liv dolls, etc.). By doing this you can change the doll's hair color, as well as giving them textured hair.

                                                                       Before:

                                                             After:

This doll's hair ended up looking more like a powdered wig than real hair.

After:
Where as this one ended looking more like it was real hair.

                         ------------------------------------------------------

What do you think? Are you planning to try it?

Love,
Quinley
